Letter Box Friends is a correspondence service for single people.

Our membership has the opportunity to get to know other genuine singles of their choice through their letters before making any commitment to meet. No early judgements are made on anything – other than the person we get to know and like.

This makes meeting comfortable and a positive and not the usual “blind-date” experience. If you don’t want to meet – then that is each individual member’s choice.

Our members all take an interest in each other through our newsletter and we see each other as a large ‘single family’.

We have been operating successfully for 6 years, publishing our 1st newsletter with just 24 members in November 1998.

We have had in excess of 4000 members since that time and maintain a monthly membership of between 400-500 members for you to choose from.

We lose numbers of members each month who have started new relationships – and we celebrate this – After all this is what we are all about! Our membership therefore is constantly changing and growing.

Each month between 50 - 70 new members join our ranks and give you new, fresh choices each month – until you find just that right person for you.

Our members come from all around Victoria, city and country towns and rural areas and a growing number of members come from other states of Australia.

Members come from all walks in life, all occupations and nationalities and we have members in all age brackets from 18yo to 80+yo. The majority of our members fall between the 35-70yo age bracket where members may find it very difficult to find comfortable venues and opportunities for meeting other singles.

We operate out of Ballarat in Victoria – however this is just the site of our Mail Box and our service area is far more extensive. We are happy to accept members from anywhere in Australia. The majority of our membership at this stage comes from within Victoria.
